AUTHOR’S NOTE: This is the second part of a two-chapter Jimmy Neutron fanfic. Part I can be found HERE.
“Serva ma, servabo te.” (“Save me and I will save you.”)
– Petronius Arbiter
“Gas planets,” James groaned as the mocking screech of Lindbergh Elementary’s bell pierced his ears. He deactivated his jetpack and awkwardly fell to the ground; his first steps landed him ankle-deep in a puddle. Jimmy narrowed his eyes but otherwise ignored the unpleasant sensation while dashing through the school’s double doors. Cindy bursting out of the library sent him sliding to a halt; he avoided a collision by the curl of his hair.
It only took a second after pulling back in shock for Cindy to wryly snap, “Late again, huh Neutron?” She set off towards Ms. Fowl’s class at a brisk pace, and Jimmy rolled his eyes while falling in step beside her.
“And what’s your excuse for dashing to class, Vortex?” Continue reading Divergence (Part 2)
Two months ago, I guest starred on a podcast called The Beanholes. This podcast discussed the attempted fourth season revival for Jimmy Neutron that I spearheaded. Excerpts from two of the four scripts I helped write were previously posted on this blog, but for the first time a complete script is now available for the public to read.
The script that is posted is for the episode entitled “Three’s a Crowd.” The primary focus of this episode is Cindy Vortex getting trapped in Jimmy’s lab with her rival, Betty Quinlan. In order to escape, Cindy must come to grips with the real reason she detests Betty so. Meanwhile, Carl leads the boys across town to recruit new members for the Llama Love Society.
The first draft of this script was beautifully penned by Saundra (I still attest that her first draft was the best of the four we wrote). Edward, Saundra, and myself polished the script together over multiple editing sessions. This script was also looked over and given a seal approval from Mike Gasaway, one of the directors for The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius.
The full script is posted here. Please feel absolutely free to comment on whatever you did or didn’t like. If you do approve of this work, please share it with any other Jimmy Neutron or Nickelodeon fans you know!
A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to be invited as a guest on a Podcast called The Beanholes. The two guys who run this podcast, Eric and Nate, dissect a new movie or TV show each week. After stumbling across my blog post about the proposed fourth season of Jimmy Neutron that I worked on, they wanted to talk about my journey. So along with my writing partner Ed (who also worked on that proposed fourth season with me), I partook in the podcast.
In this podcast we discuss what about Jimmy Neutron sparked the desire to revive it, what exactly we worked on over that year, and what we learned from our efforts.
The podcast is linked here. Please let me know what you think!
It’s been over eight months since I wrote a Jimmy Neutron fanfic. I thought I’d left that part of my life behind me, but it’s not the first time I’ve been pulled back into the fandom by a story I’ve been itching to write. For about a month I’ve had an idea for a story that explored the episode Trading Faces in a different light – what if Jimmy and Cindy had formed their truce right away instead of ruining each other’s lives first? I needed a break from worrying about the NAVLE, so for the past week I’ve been working on this story. I hope to get the last chapter up within a few days.
The first chapter is posted below, but the whole thing can be read here. I hope you enjoy and please, (pretty please) feel absolutely free to let me know what you think. I always love getting reviews and criticism.
As Jimmy Neutron stormed into Ms. Fowl’s classroom and reluctantly took the empty seat to Libby’s right, he could only focus on five words. The one simple phrase they composed had been shouted in a shrill shriek by Cindy not a half hour before. Then fix this, you idiot!
Jimmy scoffed at the audacity of that remark. How could she call him an idiot, when he had single-handedly, albeit accidentally, proven that mind transplantation was possible? As if that weren’t enough, there was the unspoken sentiment behind that terse diatribe; the idea that this was all Jimmy’s fault. Now that was utterly laughable. Last week, the internet went berserk over an announcement that Nickelodeon was considering reviving several of its 90s Nicktoons. Such Nicktoons they’ve reportedly considered reviving are Rugrats, Hey Arnold!, and Angry Beavers. Some have reported that these and other Nicktoons will come together in an “Avengers Style” movie. Of course, this information is all still new. Facts are few and rumors are racing through the community.
These shows are all of course classics and worthy of new life (as long as they are given as much care and effort that their previous incarnations received). Yet for me and tens of thousands of others, there’s one show we are deeply saddened to not see on this list. That, of course, would be The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius.

It appears that a lack of self-drive promotes self-indulgence, because for my first blog post in weeks I want to delve into my eleven favorite moments from The Final Battle series. What is The Final Battle series?
Sheen is judging you for asking that.
For the unitiated, The Final Battle series is the longest Jimmy Neutron fanfiction series in existence and was written by yours truly. It consists of two main stories (The Final Battle & Pushing Through) and a third anthology book (The Lost Chapters) that focuses on different characters from the series over different periods of time. There is also a fourth story entitled A Trip to Loch Ness that takes place in the same universe as the previous three stories, but it doesn’t relate to the plot of those books.
I’ve written before about these stories and the rest of my fanfics, but I’ll quickly sum up this series once more. Spanning over 300,000 words, the three core books in The Final Battle series begin on the eve of seventh grade. After a relaxing last day of summer vacation turned into a battle on the moon against Eustace Strych, Jimmy Neutron and his friends return to Earth to find that all of Retroville’s adults have been kidnapped once more. The kids of course assume that the Yolkians are behind the attack and set off to rescue them. Older and wiser, however, Jimmy Neutron realizes how lucky he and his friends were to thwart the Yolkians without weapons before. He enlists Nick Dean to help arm and train the group in firearms and sets off to Yolkus to finish their fight once and for all. This culminates in a Yolkian-Human war that threatens to bring both species to extinction. Continue reading The Final Battle Series – My 11 Favorite Moments
